In the first Chronicle you read about my serious side. Well lets have some fun, shall we? Well we gonna because if it's not fun, you're not doing it right. Other than life, my family and friends I enjoy other things as well. I'm more of a homebody, the bar/club scenes was never on my to do list. I do love the outdoors, hiking, picnicking, parking, walking and just loving everything outdoorsy. Movies, Music, Books, oh my. I love it all. I have many aspirations, most of which I will never accomplish in my lifetime, but whats the point if I don't die trying? (Am I rambling again?)
My favorite movie 'The Notebook' was written by Nicholas Sparks. The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiancé and her first love. Classic chick flick, but also a love story for the young and old.
I love music, all different types too! My favorite genres are Country, Pop and Hip Hop. I'm not much on Rap, mainly because most of the rap artists babble incoherent lyrics. As a writer I believe the words are important, duh! I do like some rap, I was a big fan of the late Tupac, Biggie's work was ok and I'm currently still a fan of Eminem. Eminem is a lyrical genius in my opinion. Yeah I know his words are harsh, doesn't matter, lyrically he is amazing. My favorite group however is RASCAL FLATTS, yep thats right. I seen them in concert, I want to say 1999/2000 as one of the opening acts for Brooks & Dunn, I knew then they would be a hit. Thats even without all the hoopla and lights. Now they are megastars, so I was right. Five studio albums into their incredible career, the members of Rascal Flatts find themselves firmly atop the music world. Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have scaled unbelievable heights in the eight years since their debut, and yet with the release of Still Feels Good, they find their fortunes still rising. I'm sure its not all about the money however as they music doesn't lack what most artist's works do; quality.
UPDATE: New Album drops April 7th, 2009 -- Go and get it when it does! You won't be disappointed. If you don't believe me go to Rascal Flatts Myspace page and listen to a clip of their new song "Here Comes Goodbye" off of the new "Unstoppable" album.
Book, books and more books. I've already told you I'm an avid reader, its no lie. I love books, other than reading them, I collect them. Why? I just can't seem to give them away once I have them. So this is my hobby, reading, absorbing the knowledge of writers. I love fiction, nonfiction not so much. Why? Well its easier to write our own story then to listen to others sad story. I like some self help books. I adore theology, learning about different religions. However fiction is my genre, writing and reading. My favorite author is Nicholas Spark, as I've said before and all of his novels top my list along with Jane Green, Karen Slaughter, Stephen King and the like. Reading is in fact fundamental. I have to give a massive shout-out to Sparks for another one of his novels has been adapted into a major motion picture. 'Nights in Rodanthe'. Can't wait!
UPDATE: I saw "Nights in the Rodanthe" and I have to say although it is a beautiful story I was disappointed with the cinematic version of the book. The plot lines were not at all captured in any way near Spark's story. Gere and Lane were great choices for actors but the screen writing just didn't capture the essence of the book. Better luck next time.
Welcome to the Online world. You're here so do something productive. What do I do online? I love being online as long as it doesn't interfere with everyday life. Sometimes this computer can be dangerous. Luckily I'm almost always anti-social. I enjoy surfing and reading. I am apart of many different sites. We've also started our own writing forum, since the one I was previously apart of is down. I don't enjoy unstable areas, but once its back up and running maybe things will get better. For now however our community is building and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Click on the Scribbles link to the left to join us there. I'm still apart of Fool Moon even though I recently gave up my volunteer staff position; lively debate? Fool Moon has it and you won't ever be disappointed. Other than Scribbles, Write Up, Myspace I don't do much online because I've witnessed first hand the online freaks. So make sure to always be safe while enjoying the internet.
